When you want just a 'short saga' to lull you to sleep, don't pick any of these, they will keep you up all night,what a great author she was, what a woman, what an author, what a fabulous individual..
Was reminded of this collection when it was mentioned in another book so I got it off the shelf and reread a few. Each story is like an entire novel in a few pages.

In the presence of genius. The imagery takes you down a secret path while the action proceeds innocently on the main stage. And then the stiry ends and the image blooms.
Grace revealed in the grotesque. Evil exists in fiction and in reality but grace is greater still.
Favorite author. Most amazing collection. Changed my life.
